Was there an instrument you wanted to learn growing up, but never got the chance?  Maybe you started taking lessons as a child, but stopped for some reason and now you regret it.   We can help you fit music into your hectic schedule so you can now either learn a new instrument, or pick up where you left off!   At Inspired Minds, we are flexible, and understand that our adult students have busy lives so we also offer bi-weekly lessons for adults.  We believe that adding music to your life can be a great stress reliever and provide a great sense of fulfillment and pride!

Lessons for Generation X!

Ages: Errr…. 29?!
Format: Private
Length: 30 min Private
Regular Year: September – June
Summer Programs: July – August

Many students come to us shortly after beginning retirement.  It’s wonderful how common it is for Generation X to continue pursuing goals.  Whether it is learning that instrument you never got around to, or picking it back up again now that you have a little more time to dedicate, music is a wonderful way to keep your mind and body active.

For our adult students we work to help you play the songs, exercises or anything you bring to us.  But we also work with you to teach you the things you may not have previously considered to be important.  It’s great to learn and accomplish the goals you set for yourself – but some of the most valuable and rewarding learning experiences come when you learn about ideas or concepts you had no previous knowledge of.  With the right teacher, the amount you will learn together can be a delightfully enriching experience.

We can’t promise that we’ll turn you into the next Elton John, Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin or Eric Clapton; but, we do promise that we will do everything we can to help you discover the passion and enjoyment music can offer!

We offer lessons in Kingston for group piano, group guitar, group ukulele and our “Introduction to Music Lessons” program!

Group Lessons

Ages: 6 to 17
Format: Group
Length: 60 mins
Regular Year: September – June
Summer Programs: July – August

Our group programs are an exceptionally engaging way for students to learn the fundamentals of music.  There is truly something unique about learning in a group setting and our AVT (Aural, Visual, Tactile) delivery of material is enhanced far beyond what is possible in a private setting.  From naming notes, counting out loud and answering questions in various games, our AVT delivery borders on a sensory overload and students have an exponentially greater chance to learn and retain information.
